Premier League Champions Trophy 2025 – Super 7’S

35 champions, 7 groups, one trophy!

The groups are all done and we are heading into the Super 7’s before the final 2 go head to head from Wednesday 28th October and the winner is crowned Saturday 31 October.

Ideally, you’ll picture a series of 40-over matches between the sides and back the club you think would come out on top.

Realistically? We’re not daft. You’ll vote for your own club, your mate’s club, the club with the best teas or the club that beat you in a cup semi in 2009 and still hasn’t apologised.

All of the above is allowed. Every vote counts the same, whatever your reasoning.

Its just a bit of end of season fun, and hopefully keeps the spirit of our Premier League Champions Trophy alive.

Seven groups down and the social media giants have been sent home. Welcome to the Super Seven, where the underdogs have taken over.

When we made the draw, we split the clubs by Instagram followers so the big beasts wouldn’t eat each other.
We needn’t have bothered. The voters ate them instead.

Knowle & Dorridge (Birmingham & District PL) – Group A
The only favourites who had to sweat. Horsford pushed them all the way on 29.2%, the 2nd narrowest winning margin of the group stage. Battle-hardened, or running on fumes? We’ll find out.

Bourne (Lincolnshire PL) – Group B
They had the smallest following in the Group of Death and won it by nearly 14 points, ahead of double winners St Cross (28.4%). We said Lincolnshire only needed to turn up once. It turned up.

Chalke Valley (Dorset PL) – Group C
We called them dark horses. We didn’t say how dark. They beat Crouch End, the second-biggest club in the tournament on social media, by almost 15 points.

Shepherds Bush (National Club Champions) – Group D
The biggest winning share of the group stage, and more than the other four clubs combined. Champions behaving like champions. Everyone else is chasing this number.

Cheadle (Cheshire PL) – Group E
We said Cheadle needed to be irregular in the extreme to win. They were. With 740 followers, the smallest in the group, they outpolled Surrey, Devon, Northamptonshire and the Home Counties put together for the 3rd largest winning percentage of the group stages.

Kibworth (Leics & Rutland PL) – Group F
We said they might sneak past while Yorkshire and Lancashire were busy arguing. They didn’t sneak. They took more of the vote than the other four combined and left the Roses to share 19.3%.

Clifton Alliance (Yorkshire North PL) – Group G
Coming out on top in the closest group of the lot, Yorkshire’s last club standing. Woodlands, Hoylandswaine, Townville, Sheffield Collegiate and Richmondshire have all gone. The white rose now rests on one club.

Our call . . .

In the group stage we tipped Knowle & Dorridge (right), Crouch End (wrong), Shepherds Bush (right), East Molesey (very wrong) and Richmondshire (wrong), and we shrugged at Group B. That’s two from five, which is about a club 3rd XI batting average.

With that record in mind: Shepherds Bush and Kibworth to make the final. So you should probably put your money on Bourne.

Votes open just after 8pm on Friday 23rd October and close at midnight on Monday 26th October and the result will be announced at 10am on Tuesday 27th October before the final starts at midnight the same day!
