35 champions. Seven groups. One month of voting. Only one club lifts the TPLCC Premier League Champions Trophy on Saturday 31 October.
The covers are on, the rollers are in the shed and somebody has finally cleaned the tea urn. Across England and Wales, the 2026 season is over. But for 35 clubs, one more trophy is up for grabs.
Welcome to the TPLCC Champions Trophy 2026.
The field picks itself. We have the champions of all 33 ECB Premier Leagues, plus the National Club Champions, Shepherds Bush. There is also a place for Townville, runners-up in the National T20. The winners, St Cross Symondians, had already booked their spot by winning the Southern Premier League, so the runners-up get a second bite. Nobody’s complaining.
How it works
From Thursday 1 October, the clubs go head to head across seven groups of five. Each group gets three days of voting on this site. The top club in each group goes through to the Super Seven, a four-day vote-off from Thursday 22 October. The top two then meet in the final, and the winner is revealed on Saturday 31 October.
How should you vote?
Ideally, you’ll picture a series of 40-over matches between the sides and back the club you think would come out on top in each group . . .
Realistically? We’re not daft. You’ll vote for your own club, your mate’s club, the club with the best teas or the club that beat you in a cup semi in 2009 and still hasn’t apologised.
All of the above is allowed. Every vote counts the same, whatever your reasoning.
The draw
We’ve spread the field so the big social followings are split up and no region gangs up on itself. You won’t find two Yorkshire clubs in the same group. Draw your own conclusions about why that mattered.
Every group has one club from each ‘follower’ pot, and no group has two clubs from the same region, e.g. the Yorkshire clubs are in different groups, and so are the five North West clubs, the five East Midlands clubs and the two Welsh clubs. Roffey and Crouch End, the two ‘follower’ giants, are kept apart.
How it was drawn: clubs were ranked by followers into five pots of seven. Each pot was shuffled into the groups using a fixed random seed, and any draw with a regional clash was thrown out. From the valid draws, the one with the most even follower totals was kept. The only unavoidable doubling-up is in the South East: eight clubs across seven groups, so East Molesey and High Wycombe share Group E.
